The “Go/No-Go” service is a screening process to help researchers determine if they should apply to the targeted grant.
The Horizon Europe Deep Dive review service is based on the following pillars of success:
Our “Go/No-Go” service is our unique screening process which assists in evaluating whether the project’s concept is in line with the requirements and expectations of the targeted grant.
Before heading out on the meticulous process of preparing the grant application – a proper and focused review of project’s ideas will save time, effort, and the potential frustration in preparing a project proposal with low chances of success.
You will be asked to provide information about your project through a dedicated form with guiding questions, to which we will provide written feedback.
The feedback that we provide is qualitative constructive feedback, based on our experience. This feedback can either help you make a decision on the next steps or point you to the aspects you can strengthen in your application, should you choose to apply. We may provide a ‘No-Go’ feedback in cases where we recognize critical “show-stoppers”. In such cases, we may recommend not to apply.
Conceptual aspects:
There are several common conceptual and technical aspects that we facilitate in our Deep Dive service for Horizon Europe projects (collaborative projects; EIC; MSCA):
Conceptual aspects:
We provide an extensive and interactive process in which we will crystalize the concept, objectives, methodology and suggested work plan, and their presentation – tailored to the chosen funding scheme. This includes full ongoing reviews and proofreading of the proposal text. We assist with putting together a comprehensive and structured impact section, devising dissemination plans, communication activities and paths to exploitation, including market aspects if applicable. We assist in devising an implementation plan which is feasible and ready for execution. We suggest structures and implementation methods for efficient project management.
Technical aspects:
Technical aspects:
We make sure that there are no eligibility issues and/or any possible errors that can lead to your proposal being rejected/disqualified on a technical basis; We provide an annotated proposal template of the relevant grant for which you are applying. Our insights and “hands-on” expertise will guide you toward a better understanding of what should be delivered in each section, and translating this understanding to a competitive proposal; We assist with budget planning while making sure that it reflects the quality of the overall work plan; We assist in addressing ethical (as well as security, if applicable) issues concerned with the application. We handle and monitor the electronic submission system as well as all administrative issues with the consortium (if requested) up to and including the successful submission of the proposal.
Learn how this service applies to each unique grant:
During this free screening process, we will evaluate the compatibility of the project’s concept to the chosen Horizon Europe topic’s scope, expected impact and any specific or unique requirements. We will assess the novelty and knowledge gap associated with the project and the expected scientific, societal, and, if relevant, economic impacts. We will evaluate the current consortium structure and its suitability to the project’s concept. As well, we will screen for any relevant eligibility issues or errors that may lead to technical rejection.
The Pillar 2 Collaborative Projects free-of-charge Go/No-Go service also applies to the EIC Pathfinder Challenges and Transition Challenges.

This free MSCA Go/No-Go service is relevant to the following types of MSCA grants:
- Doctoral Networks (DN) – We will evaluate the project’s concept and its suitability with the Doctoral Network funding scheme, its novelty and the challenge and/or knowledge gaps that it aims to address. We will evaluate both R&I and training objectives as well as the way the individual research projects align and contribute to achieving them. We will assess the consortium, and complementarities within it and how the Doctoral Candidates may benefit from its structure.
- Post-doctoral fellowships (PF) – We will assess the applicant’s CV and Track record in line with the MSCA-PF CV requirements. We will alert on any eligibility issues that may come up in that respect.
Regarding the project idea, we will assess the following:
- Novelty and the knowledge gap to be addressed;
- The expected project’s Impact
- Knowledge transfer & training activities including secondments and/or non-academic placements
- Quality of the supervision: the qualifications and experience of the main supervisor, relevant experience on the research topic proposed in supervising and training of advanced students/researchers
