The “Standard Review” service resembles the official review process and provides a detailed feedback report on the proposal. It includes a single review cycle followed by a question and answer session.
The Horizon Europe Deep Dive review service is based on the following pillars of success:
The Standard Review service includes the following aspects for all grant schemes:
During the Standard Review process, our team will thoroughly review the application to verify that all essential elements and requirements of the funding scheme are properly addressed. As well, we will check that the proposal is formatted and presented “by the book”, and that it “feeds the reviewer” in the best way possible. The feedback that we provide serves as a pre-submission validation and can be used to improve the proposal’s readiness prior to actual submission. To maximize the effectiveness of this service, it is highly recommended to submit a near-final version of your application, so that the single review cycle and the Q&A session which follows will be as extensive and exhaustive as possible.
The outcome of our Standard Review is a detailed report which covers both technical and conceptual aspects of your proposal.
Conceptual aspects include: Project’s objectives and excellence, methodology and approach, impact, Dissemination, exploitation and Communication activities, coherence of the proposal inner logic, the structure of the consortium (when relevant) and how it corresponds to the project’s objectives.
Technical aspects include: Overall formatting, page limits, template structure and requirements (sections, sub-sections, sub-headings and tables), readability of the proposal, any relevant eligibility issues and errors that may lead to technical rejection, budget and more.
Conceptual aspects:
There are several common conceptual and technical aspects that we facilitate in our Deep Dive service for Horizon Europe projects (collaborative projects; EIC; MSCA):
Conceptual aspects:
We provide an extensive and interactive process in which we will crystalize the concept, objectives, methodology and suggested work plan, and their presentation – tailored to the chosen funding scheme. This includes full ongoing reviews and proofreading of the proposal text. We assist with putting together a comprehensive and structured impact section, devising dissemination plans, communication activities and paths to exploitation, including market aspects if applicable. We assist in devising an implementation plan which is feasible and ready for execution. We suggest structures and implementation methods for efficient project management.
Technical aspects:
Technical aspects:
We make sure that there are no eligibility issues and/or any possible errors that can lead to your proposal being rejected/disqualified on a technical basis; We provide an annotated proposal template of the relevant grant for which you are applying. Our insights and “hands-on” expertise will guide you toward a better understanding of what should be delivered in each section, and translating this understanding to a competitive proposal; We assist with budget planning while making sure that it reflects the quality of the overall work plan; We assist in addressing ethical (as well as security, if applicable) issues concerned with the application. We handle and monitor the electronic submission system as well as all administrative issues with the consortium (if requested) up to and including the successful submission of the proposal.

On top of the aspects mentioned above, we will pay special attention to the following:
- Assessing the alignment of the proposal with the specific call and its requirements
- Results, expected outcomes, and expected impact(s)
- Credibility of the workplan and readiness of the project proposal to execution.
- Management structure, milestones and procedures
In addition, we also support the Clinical Trials variant of the Horizon Europe programme. In this case, and in addition to the above, the Clinical Trials Standard Review report will give extra attention to the specific attributes of a Clinical Trial project.

- High-risk / high-gain – the high-risk nature of the project is evident, as well as the potential high-gain (impact)

I don’t think I would have had this realization without the review even though I had attended the training day – it was really helpful to hear the advice again in relation to my… Read more > “”
