Note: We will soon transition from the Horizon 2020 framework (ending on December 2020) to the new Horizon Europe framework that will launch on January 2021 for the duration of 7 years. As such, we no longer offer this Horizon 2020 course. Instead, we invite you to sign up to be notified about the launch of our new Horizon Europe online course.

The objectives and added value:
The EIC Pathfinder (FET-Open) course covers the basics of this funding scheme and, more importantly, how EIC Pathfinder (FET-Open) is different in comparison to other Horizon 2020 funding schemes. During the workshop, we will touch on all that is unique to this funding scheme, and clearly identify the additional EIC Pathfinder (FET-Open) attributes for success.
*For applicants without prior Horizon 2020 experience, it is advised to first become highly familiar with the Horizon 2020 funding scheme, which can be done through our dedicated Horizon 2020 course.
The topics of the course include:
- Horizon 2020 overview
- What is EIC Pathfinder (FET-Open) and how is it unique?
- What is EIC Pathfinder (FET-Open) looking for?
- The Gatekeepers
- How “Open” is FET Open?
- How to prepare a winning proposal?
- Constructing a EIC Pathfinder (FET-Open) concept
- Evaluation procedure
- Lessons Learned
- The hidden link between ERC and EIC Pathfinder (FET-Open)
As we discuss the above, we always keep in mind the most important grant writing aspect – the point of view of the reviewers. Since we know what reviewers are looking for, we know exactly what researchers should focus on and what they should avoid.
We recommend attending a workshop as soon as possible, and no later than 3 months before the relevant Horizon 2020 call deadline to allow considerable time for the proposal preparation phase.
