About the course:
EIC Pathfinder Open supports bottom-up, early-stage science and technology research, laying the foundations for radically new future technologies, with a vision to have a transformative effect on our economy and society.
Projects should entail cutting-edge high-risk / high-gain research which dissolves traditional boundaries between sciences and disciplines with a clear potential to create new markets and address global challenges.
The EIC Pathfinder Open course covers the basics of this funding scheme and, more importantly, how EIC Pathfinder Open is different in comparison to other Horizon Europe grants. During the course, we will touch on all that is unique to this funding scheme, and clearly identify the additional EIC Pathfinder Open attributes for success.
In the course, we always keep in mind the most important grant writing aspect – the point of view of the reviewers. Since we know what reviewers are looking for, we know exactly what researchers should focus on and what they should avoid.
The main topics we will cover in the course are:
- Introduction to the EIC
- What is EIC Pathfinder Open and how is it unique?
- The Gatekeepers
- How “open” is it?
- High-risk and non-incremental research
- Maximizing the project’s impact
- IPR in EIC Pathfinder Open
- Building a workplan
- Building the budget
- The evaluation procedure
- Feeding the reviewer
