This short reflection tool is designed to help you think through the essential elements of your research project before you start—or while you are developing—your ERC proposal.
The questions follow the structure in your ERC notebook page and guide you through four connected areas: the Knowledge Gap, your Central Hypothesis, the Objectives, and the Approach & Challenges.
How to use it:
There are no “right” answers. Use the questions to clarify your thinking, challenge your assumptions, and identify what still needs work.
You can start with rough ideas. Short answers, keywords and unfinished thoughts are perfectly fine. The aim is to make the logic of your project increasingly clear:
What is missing? → What is your idea? → What must you achieve? → How will you investigate it?
Iteratively going through this sequence of questions, can guide you as you develop a stronger, more coherent project narrative.
